Deaf Studies Talk with Ben Jarashow

Audism & Linguicism

The workshop is intended as an introduction to the Deaf world and culture.  The presenter, Ben Jarashow, will focus on topics in the culture of Deaf people including studies of their beliefs, practices and language.  It is excellent for audiences who have little to no experience with or knowledge of Deaf people and their culture.  Deaf people may also learn more about their own culture and share their experiences.  This workshop is ongoing every month with different topics.

The topic “Audism & Linguicism” will focus on the general theory of oppression and learn how to identify them in various situations.
