Now that the school year is in session, we would love to have your students be the part of the Gold Hearts Volunteering Program at Sanderson Community Center of the Deaf in Taylorsville, UT.
Deaf and Hard of Hearing Festival is coming to the Sanderson Community Center on September 21, 2013. We are expecting 2,000 to 2,500 visitors hitting our campus, outdoors and indoors. We would need the volunteers to be available from 7 am to 8 pm (from setting up to cleaning up including monitoring the children’s activities, safety issues, and several other activities)
Sleepover and Community Services for the Teens will take place on September 26 and 27th. Highlights are: dinner, three leaders, games/movies and sleeping in separate rooms at the center, support the teens at the Bike Event with Sego Lily Center for the Abused Deaf.
…and few more to come!
The interested volunteers would need to contact me for instructions on how to apply online and make appointments with me for the short interviews and background criminal investigation (BCI). The sooner the better because it would take from one to two weeks to get the confirmation from the state with BCI before we could welcome new volunteers.
Looking forward to hearing from you and your potential volunteering students,
Eleanor ‘Eli’ McCowan, Program Manager
